RAF Boulmer has two Contact Houses (a 2-bed and 4-bed property), which primarily provide accommodation for welfare and contact visits.

Health and welfare
Medical Centre
The RAF Boulmer Medical Centre provides medical and dental care for RAF personnel only. Dependants of personnel should register with a local GP.
The Centre is on the ground floor of SHQ on the Main Site.
SSAFA PS&SWS RAF
SSAFA Personal Support & Social Work Service RAF (PS&SWS RAF) is contracted by the RAF to provide welfare support to all serving personnel (regular and reserves) and their families. Our team of specialist Personal & Family Support Workers and Social Workers are located on stations in the RAF community throughout the UK.
Our service is confidential and independent from the Chain of Command. It is the aim of our service to support you to enhance personal welfare, maintain family stability and empower you to access the support networks you are entitled to.
We can support you with a broad range of issues including mental health, bereavement, finances, housing, addiction and relationships.
Anyone, regular, reserve or dependent, can refer themselves to SSAFA.

Chaplains
The Station Chaplain (Padre) is here to support all serving personnel, civilian staff and their families.
The Padre is available, regardless of rank, religious belief or background to confidentially discuss any pastoral, welfare or spiritual problems.
While routine matters are usually handled during normal working hours, if more convenient, appointments can be made in the evening.

Sports
Station Gym (Kings Gym)
A modern fitness training facility is located in the gym. It houses aerobic training machines such as rowers, treadmills, steppers, bikes and elliptical trainers. For weight training there are single-station resistance machines and a comprehensive range of free weights.
The building contains full shower and changing facilities.
Fitness suite membership cards and Health and Safety at Work briefings are available from the PEd Flight. Families of service personnel, MOD civilians and contractors are also able to take up membership.

Sports Pitches and Courts
The Station Sports Hall located on the RAF Boulmer main site, can be used for a number of team activities including five-a-side football, basketball, uni-hoc, volleyball, pickleball and badminton. It also incorporates cricket nets and a climbing wall.
There is a squash court with changing / showering facilities. Situated directly
on the RAF Boulmer main site.

Adventurous Training
Various Station expeditions are run each year and are publicised widely throughout the Station. They include mountaineering, hillwalking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, skiing and mountain biking.
Circuit Training
Circuit training sessions are run from Monday to Thursday, 8am to 10am and 12 noon to 1pm in the Sports Hall.
All standards of fitness are catered for, and everyone is welcome.
Sports Clubs
A range of sports clubs exist at RAF Boulmer with a wide variety of both summer and winter activities organised.

'Dukes' Club
The 'Dukes' Club is an all ranks and Junior Ranks' bar.

The 'Dukes' Club is available for hire for functions (including All Ranks and private functions) through the Dukes Club Committee.
Other facilities
Longhoughton village is approximately one mile from the Main Site and about two miles from the Operations Site. Within the village there is a Co-op shop, coffee shop and cafe.
