Exercise Agile Warrior at RAF Boulmer

Exercise Agile Warrior focused on demonstrating our preparedness and readiness to deter aggression and disruption in whatever form it takes, while continuing to provide our 24/7 operational output, providing surveillance of UK airspace and tactical control of combat and support aircraft.

Our personnel experience various life-like scenarios, from visits from the media, attempted access, medical incidents and even a few aggressive protesters.

‘Agile Warrior has given us the opportunity to apply the skills we have developed throughout our careers in a new and challenging environment. I was immensely impressed by the professionalism demonstrated in response to every scenario. Our team of subject matter experts created a safe, controlled training environment that enabled real learning to take place.’

The Base Operations Centre team had to react to each scenario with no prior knowledge of what was planned. They responded to the realistic events with focus and professionalism, ensuring every incident was handled appropriately.

All of this took place while Air Command and Control Force and Station personnel were deployed across the site, managing each scenario as it unfolded.

‘Opportunities of this scale allow us to strengthen our capabilities and reinforce our whole force ethos as we come together to deliver.’
