Two personnel, Flt Lt Wilde and Flt Lt Evans from 20 Squadron represented the RAF at The Vitruvian-in the Inter-Services Middle Distance Triathlon Championships at Rutland Water recently.
This Middle-Distance triathlon consisted of a 1.9km Open Water swim, a 90km bike and a 21.1km- half marathon run, otherwise known as a half iron.

Despite a record number of female participants, a yellow weather warning and a minor mechanical malfunction, Flt Lt Wilde finished with a time of 6:06:34, which was significantly faster than her only other 70.3 earlier in the season. Flt Lt Wilde was also awarded with trophies for Silver as part of the RAF Female Masters team.

Flt Lt Evans had a good first outing representing the RAF, finishing only 7 minutes off a PB with a total time of 5:15:34, despite a grand total of 40 minutes on the time trial bike in the last 12 month. Ending with a solid run which would have been good enough for 3rd in isolation among the RAF triathletes.

Overall, there was a great team atmosphere and the support from fellow RAF triathletes on the course was fantastic, with the bad weather even holding off until after the race was complete.
