On the 13 August 2021 Wing Commander Elizabeth O'Sullivan formally handed over command of Air Wing Engineering to Wing Commander Timothy Fawdry-Jeffries. Wing Commander O’Sullivan departs on promotion after 2 years as OC Air Wing Engineering (formally Engineering and Logistics Wing), whilst it is a welcome return to RAF Brize Norton for Wing Commander Timothy Fawdry-Jeffries, who in years gone by was Senior Engineering Officer 99 Squadron. Air Wing Engineering provides and sustains engineering support to home base and deployed operations. Officer Commanding Air Wing Engineering (MilCAM / CAE to the DDH) and the team provides the Duty Delivery Holder, Group Captain Simon Blackwell, with specialist engineering support in delivering assured output.

“I have been fortunate to work with a fantastic team. All personnel at all levels across the whole force have worked through some pretty unprecedented events over the last two years but have kept focussed and maintained vital Defence outputs. However, what has continually impressed me is the professionalism and work ethic of all the engineers and logisticians at RAF Brize Norton both at the MOB and at numerous locations across the globe. It has been a privilege to serve alongside each and every one of them and I wish them all the best and hope my successor enjoys his tour as much as I have!".
