Wing Commander Kevin Latchman returns to RAF Brize Norton and is very familiar to the world of Air Mobility and, in particular, the C-17. In 2003 he began his career flying the Tristar aircraft of No. 216 Squadron, before joining No. 99 Squadron as a C-17 Globemaster pilot, where he achieved his captaincy. After being promoted to Squadron Leader in 2011, Kevin was offered the role of Flight Commander on No. 10 Squadron and flew the Voyager.

“I always wanted to command 99 Squadron and have done ever since I left here in 2010, so I now have my dream job. The C-17 can go anywhere across the world and do anything, which makes the job exciting.”

During Wing Commander Holland’s time as Commanding Officer, he has led the Squadron in their centenary celebrations, supporting Operations such as delivering humanitarian aid to the Caribbean Islands, and during commemoration of the Royal Air Force’s 100 year anniversary.

“It has been an incredible honour to command 99 Squadron over its Centenary and the 100 year anniversary of the RAF. It has also been a humbling experience to have worked with so many exceptional people that reinforce the formidable reputation of this great Squadron around the clock 365 days a year.  I wish Wing Commander Latchman all the best on his journey, leading 99 Squadron into the next 100 years.”
