On 18-26 Sep, 10 Squadron and 101 Squadron hosted a detachment from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). Personnel from the 404th Air Refueling Squadron, operating the KC-767 and 405th Air Refueling Squadron, operating the KC-46A, visited RAF Brize Norton in support of ’Atlantic Eagles’. This is the first JASDF deployment of fighter aircraft to Europe in its 71-year history.
The visit strengthened the bond between the Air Refueling communities and demonstrated the interconnective nature of our global security. The visit complements the recent collaboration between the RAF, the JASDF and the Republic of Korea Air Force, conducted during Op HIGHTOWER in Aug 25.
