NEW OFFICER COMMANDING FOR TACTICAL MEDICAL WING

On Wednesday 18th September 2019, Wing Commander Darren Ellison handed Command of Tactical Medical Wing (TMW), the ‘operational hub’ for all RAF Medical Services (RAFMS), to Wing Commander Jo Bland.

The handover took place during a special honours and awards ceremony conducted by Air Commodore David McLoughlin OBE QHS RAF, Air Officer Medical Operations, who is responsible for the operational force elements of RAFMS medical capability and healthcare in support of both the RAF and wider Defence.

TMW’s role is to train, equip and deploy RAFMS personnel as Force Elements in support of operations and exercises and to provide quality worldwide Aeromedical Evacuation Services for Defence.
