Number 4624 (County of Oxford) Squadron Awarded the Clyde Trophy

 

This year, No. 4624 (County of Oxford) Movements Squadron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force, based at Royal Air Force Brize Norton, has been awarded the Clyde Trophy, presented as part of the RAuxAF100 Honorary Air Commodore’s, Squadron Commander’s and Warrant Officer’s conference.

The Clyde Trophy, donated by former Officer Commanding, and latterly Honorary Air Commodore, 7644 (Press & Public Relations) Squadron, is awarded annually to the RAuxAF unit judged to have had the highest performance in Public Relations during the year.

Held at RAF Cranwell, Air Marshal Paul Lloyd, Deputy Chief of Air Staff said that he was “...honoured to attend the conference and to be asked to present the annual RAuxAF Awards”.

The recipient unit won the award through its publicity for a wide range of exciting activity including personnel being deployed to Lossiemouth, Waddington, Norway, the Netherlands, USA, Cyprus, Qatar, Falkland Islands and Gibraltar and, the Royal International Air Tattoo, in support of routine and operational work along with other significant operational support work overseas.
