RAF Brize Norton Parade Through Witney on Remembrance Sunday

On Sunday 11th November 2018, RAF Brize Norton exercised their Freedom of Witney as part of the Remembrance Sunday commemorations.

As well as being Remembrance Sunday – the 11th day of the 11th month – Sunday also marked 100 years since the First World War Armistice.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Witney to show their respect for the courage and bravery of all those who fought and the selfless sacrifice of those who paid the ultimate price, and to show their supportfor the Royal Air Force personnel based in Oxfordshire.

The parade began at 10.30am followed by a service and at 11am two minutes silence was observed which was broken by Reveille being sounded. There then followed a poppy wreath laying ceremony.
