Royal Air Force Brize Norton’s Station Commander, Group Captain Kate Macartney, attended the launch of this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Carterton, joining local representatives and members of the community in marking the start of the nation’s annual remembrance campaign.
The launch highlighted the enduring significance of the Poppy Appeal in supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families, while providing an opportunity for the local community to come together in remembrance and reflection.

Group Captain Macartney said:
“The Poppy Appeal is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation. It is important that we continue to honour their service, support veterans and their families, and ensure future generations understand the significance of remembrance. RAF Brize Norton is proud of its close relationship with Carterton and the wider community, and it was a privilege to support the launch of this year’s appeal.”
