Saturday 4th September saw Service personnel, their families and friends enjoy an amazing day of activities, displays and entertainment at our annual Families Day and Brizefest. This is an important event for the Station as it's a way of thanking everyone for their support and commitment to RAF Brize Norton.
Throughout the day the visitors were entertained with a variety of activities, including displays from the Rockets Children Motorcycle Display Team, the RAF Police Dogs, Falconry Display and Medieval Fighting Display. The airfield was home to the Station’s aircraft which could be viewed up close, with static displays of the C-17 Globemaster, the Atlas A400M, the Voyager A330 and the C-130J Hercules. Alongside the aircraft was a classic and performance car display, with a huge range of cars for people to visit. The exciting all-day fairground rides were very popular and was enjoyed by all ages.
The musical entertainment was the highlight of the evening with spectacular performances from the RAF Brize Norton Military Wives Choir, the Band of the Royal Air Force College, Alex and Jaques, Disco Inferno, Ben Haenow, and headlining was Rock for Heroes. The evening was finished in spectacular style with a firework display to mark the end of an incredible event.
Thanks must be given to the volunteers from across Station who dedicated their time to providing the best event possible, and we can definitely say this was a fantastic Families Day.
