On the 31st October, many people across Station braved the cold to take part in a 10k Airfield Run in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund. The charity event was organised by Sergeant Kirsty Elm to celebrate the RAF Benevolent Fund centenary of support to the RAF. Wing Commander Pete Vaughan wished the runners good luck before getting the race underway with a countdown.
The circuit began at Base Support Wing and followed the road around the perimeter of the airfield and finishing outside the Station gym. The winner was Michael Kallenberg with an impressive time of 31.19mins. Money was raised through a donation entrance fee.
"Congratulations to all the runners who took part today. I am so pleased with the turnout for the event and we really appreciate the support everyone has shown to the RAF Benevolent Fund."
