The RAF Brize Norton Charities Committee were asked by Homeless Oxfordshire if they could help with Christmas presents for the homeless.
Homeless Oxfordshire, a centre which provides accommodation and food for the homeless in Oxford, has a close relationship with RAF Brize Norton. In 2017, the Station provided clothing, bedding and other items to help the homeless during the cold winter months. RAF Brize Norton personnel also volunteer each week in the hostel kitchen.
Following an appeal across the Station, named ‘Bring a smile at Christmas’, RAF Brize Norton managed to provide 100s of items, which were wrapped and given to the homeless over Christmas.
“Helping such a worthy cause is real privilege. The station quickly pulled together as we understood how important it was to provide people with gifts at Christmas. We really hope it brought a smile and showed that we are thinking of them. RAF Brize Norton will continue to help those in need and we are honoured that we can”.

“At Homeless Oxfordshire we have been overwhelmed by the donations from RAF Brize Norton, we were able to make up some wonderful gifts for our clients. Those residing in community housing all know that they are getting a delivery from Santa, they have said they are touched and so grateful to be remembered. Homeless people are often socially isolated so for them to be included in the festivities means an awful lot. Thank you all, we couldn’t have done it without you, look at what you achieved”.
