WE CELEBRATE THE SUCCESSES OF OUR OWN APPRENTICES DURING NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK

Apprentices across the country will be celebrated throughout the 13th annual National Apprenticeship Week. RAF Brize Norton are very proud to have around 300 apprentices over many different trades.

One of the possible trades available on Station is through an Air Movements apprenticeship. Senior Aircraftwoman Sarah Harris began her Air Movements apprenticeship in January 2019 during her Phase 2 Basic Movements Training. As part of her role, SAC Harris prepares freight for air transportation to overseas operations and exercises.

“I chose to take part in the apprenticeship because it allowed me to start work in an operational environment and I know I would gain new skills and experiences which would put me in good stead for my career as a Logistics Mover. Since the beginning my apprenticeship in Air Movements I have not only learnt a new skill set but I have gained confidence and joined a great team.”

An Apprenticeship in the Royal Air Force offers the chance to gain a professional qualification as part of a challenging and unique career. The programme offers an individual a world class opportunity to be a full-time Serviceman/woman.

In June this year the RAF are holding their Apprentice Awards and we are very proud to have four apprentices nominated. Good luck to SACs Sarah Harris, Alistair McAlpine, Luke Williams and SAC Libby Dunn.
