RAF College Cranwell recently hosted JET - the Jon Egging Trust - Blue Skies Program, JET activities are organised by our dedicated volunteers - who all work tirelessly to ensure that these events happen. Thank you.
JET delivers two youth programmes, Blue Skies and Inspirational Outreach concentrating on raising confidence and aspirations in young people who are facing adversity.
SAC (Senior Aircraftman) Kira Sturgess is one of the dedicated volunteers from RAF College Cranwell who regularly helps with the program. Kira explained that she volunteered to help as a secondary duty, but was unaware of the positive effect her involvement would have on the young people taking part, but also how important the Jon Egging Trust is to young people.
Kira said:
"We recently started a new season with Priory Witham Academy, on one of the last sessions we asked the group who inspired them - one young girl said that I inspired her, she said "Your honesty in telling us that you have struggled with leadership styles and you have failed inspired me, I will keep trying and not worry when I get things wrong". I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, I was over the moon. I am incredibly proud and passionate to be part of JET”
