RAF Cranwell News

RAF Cranwell has been delighted to host students from the Air and Defence Colleges at Lincoln College, Peterborough College and Stamford College.

Throughout September RAF Cranwell has been delighted to host students from the Air and Defence Colleges at Lincoln College, Peterborough College and Stamford College.

Following their formal entry into Air and Defence College at a matriculation ceremony at the International Bomber Command Centre this is the next stage in their journey towards a career in the Royal Air Force or the wider air and defence industry. The aim of the activities was to familiarise the students with key aspects of training that all entrants into the Royal Air Force undergo, develop basic leadership, teamwork and communication skills and give them an understanding of the history, ethos and heritage of RAF Cranwell and the wider RAF.

By working collaboratively with the Air and Defence College the Royal Air Force is looking to generate high-quality, airpower-minded candidates for the Royal Air Force and the defence industrial sector with the right attitude and technical skills to maximise their chances of employment. The Royal Air Force College is central to the delivery of the Royal Air Force curriculum enrichment activities that provide Air and Defence College students with a greater understanding of a career in the RAF and prepare them both physically and mentally for the challenges of the Basic Recruit Training Course and service life in general.
