1 Group Industry Conference and Awards Ceremony

Last week, we were delighted to host colleagues from across the whole of the Royal Air Force’s No 1 Group at an Industry Conference and Awards Dinner.

The day-long event showcased aircraft and personnel from 1 Group, creating a valuable opportunity to share expertise, knowledge, and experience.

In the evening the Station hosted an awards ceremony celebrating achievements over the course of the last year.

Amongst others the event recognised exemplars of both individual and collective achievements such as Engineering Excellence, Air Safety, Air Maritime Integration and Force Development, demonstrating the breadth of activity across the Group.

Here at Coningsby we were delighted to receive both the Main Operating Base Award for Excellence and the Dacre Trophy for one of our squadrons, No 3 (Fighter) Squadron. Corporal Max Reeve received the Vorderman Award for his work with RAF Cadets. Sadly Carol wasn’t able to be here to present the award in person; we look forward to hosting her at a future event.

Group Captain Billy Cooper, Station Commander at Coningsby said,

This event is a wonderful occasion, as Station Commander I’m honoured to be hosting my colleagues, and also proud to be accepting the MOB award on behalf of the previous Station Commander, Group Captain Matt Peterson, but primarily, and I’m sure Matt would agree, the hard-working dedicated personnel here at Coningsby who have been at the forefront of our achievements this year.
