An RAF Coningsby Doctor is using her culinary skills to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

RAF Coningsby Doctor Prescribes Good Food to Raise Funds for Benevolent Fund.

Royal Air Force Coningsby General Practitioner and culinary enthusiast Dr Sudeshna Sar is prescribing homemade medicine to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

“Food is such an important aspect of our wellbeing,” says Dr Sar, “and for deployed personnel the link between good food and morale is well understood. At the end of the working day, something familiar and well-made can make all the difference.”

An experienced doctor having worked all around the world, Sudeshna Sar is an MoD General Practitioner at RAF Coningsby. With more than 2500 uniformed personnel on the Lincolnshire Station to keep medically fit, the medical centre is a busy place.

Dr Sar has been interested in food and nutrition for as long as she can remember and admits that cooking is a creative outlet and a useful way to de-stress after a long day.

“It is a blessing to be able to cook and to enjoy cooking. I am incredibly lucky that way and wanted to find a way to use my hobby productively.”

Cooking for the public is a significant logistical challenge, and so Sudeshna opened her own home to colleagues and Station Personnel to hold a series of supper clubs to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

“The Ben Fund does amazing work; whether its new recruits or veterans, they will help the RAF family wherever they can.”

Tickets for the supper club have sold out, but it’s still possible to donate to the RAF Benevolent Fund through Sudeshna’s Just Giving Page. The link is here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/sudeshna-sar-1
