State of the Art AstroTurf Pitch Opens at RAF Cosford

Station Commander, Group Captain Tone Baker officially opened the new AstroTurf pitch at RAF Cosford.

The modern pitch epitomises how the Royal Air Force continues to provide top level training facilities for personnel; it cannot be understated the importance of sport within the military. It helps to foster a team mentality and Esprit de Corps, while at the same time encouraging individuals to develop both physically and mentally. It is this competitive edge that is vital in driving our people to succeed in this modern era.

Group Captain Tone Baker said; sport and fitness is integral to our people's physical and mental well being. Having the right facilities with which to train is vitally important and this new AstroTurf is a step change in delivering those facilities to personnel at RAF Cosford and across the wider RAF

The distinctive colour makes a great talking point and it's a great landmark from the air too.
