Sqn Ldr Wise was presented with his A1 Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) certificate this week by Commandant Central Flying School, Gp Capt Dave Flynn.
The A1 award is the pinnacle of aircrew instructor qualifications demonstrating exceptional ability both in the air, and across a range of Defence aviation related subjects. Now one of just three A1 Multi-Engine QFIs across the three Services, Sqn Ldr Wise is the first Lancaster and Dakota A1 QFI for over 50 years. Mixing old with new, he has also transferred his qualification to the Phenom, the modern day Multi-Engine pilot training aircraft flown at RAF Cranwell.
