Congratulations to the student pilots of Number 39 Course who graduated from Elementary Flying Training on 11th February

Congratulations to the student pilots of Number 39 Course who graduated from Elementary Flying Training on 11th February.

The event marked the completion of the first stage of formal flying training, which had been undertaken on the Grob Prefect aircraft of 57 Squadron, 3 Flying Training School (3 FTS), based at RAF College Cranwell.

Group Captain Jon Nixon, Commandant 3FTS was the reviewing officer.

This was a much reduced event in comparison to a normal graduation ceremony but remained an important one. It appropriately marked the completion of the first stage of the students’ flying careers and recognised those who had excelled on the Course.

The students were also ‘streamed’ at this stage to their future career paths.  Three of the students remain on Prefect for additional training before moving on to Fast Jet and Multi-engine pipelines; the other was streamed straight to Rotary Wing training at RAF Shawbury.

We wish them well in their future flying careers.
