May the whole force be with you - Royal Air Force Fylingdales Summer Gala

Families and friends of RAF Fylingdales staff enjoyed a sun soaked day of activities at the RADAR station last week as part of the annual Summer Gala. Events included a bird of prey display, bouncy castle and climbing wall, and of course a chance to see inside the giant pyramid RADAR.

The highlight of the day was the Sentinel Squad, a team of space enthusiasts who dress and behave like the characters from Star Wars. The authentically dressed group attracted much interest from young and old alike. They were the perfect fit for the gala day that incorporated contractors and military families as part of RAF Fylingdales whole force concept.

Wing Commander Alun Walton said:

‘This has been a great day for our families, the sun has shone and the Sentinel Squad have been amazing and very convincing.’
