GIVING THANKS TO SQUADRON LEADER GIBSON MAY 2023

This week, Royal Air Force Halton would like to show appreciation for Squadron Leader Gibson ‘Gibbo’ and his wife, Ali, for all their continued work in and around Station. The kind volunteers regularly keep Station gardens tidy around base, particularly at the Officer’s Mess.

In Gibbo’s words: “We are not averse to tackling hedges and gardens around the area!”

In recent weeks, the couple have been making use of waste wood provided by the Station’s facilities team. The wood has come from trees that had to be chopped down due to safety concerns. Most of the wood had lost its sap and once sawn, split and stacked will be ideal for burning in the winter.

After bagging, boxing and stacking the wood himself, Gibbo will deliver it to veterans and RAF Association members in time for the Winter. The intent is to ensure a good and practical use is made of a now waste product!

There is no doubt that the local community will be truly grateful for such a generous offering. Thank you to Gibbo and Ali for such a thoughtful initiative.
