PEARSON INTAKE MARCH INTO THE ROYAL AIR FORCE

The frost hit RAF Halton on the morning of the Graduation Parade of 109 Recruits, Pearson Intake number 622 braved the chilly weather as their loved ones watched on.

The Venerable (Air Vice-Marshal) John Ellis, Chaplain-in-Chief and Archdeacon for the Royal Air Force acted as Reviewing Officer and welcomed family friends and the new Airmen and Airwomen into the Royal Air Force.
As the parade contingent saluted, a ...Hawk T1 roared overhead from 100 Squadron at RAF Leeming. The Reviewing Officer, accompanied by Recruit Training Squadron Staff, walked the ranks of recruits stopping to chat and congratulate individuals.


He addressed the Parade and families saying that the standard of the Parade was: “Superb, absolutely superb.” He advised the families that their support has been the mainstay of their son or daughter’s success through the last 10 weeks and the coming years. He then presented awards and trophies to the following:

AC Brown was presented the Rothschild Trophy – Awarded to the recruit who showed the best overall performance in Initial Force Protection Training.
AC Ford was presented the Halton Aircraft Apprentice Trophy – Awarded for the best Drill and Deportment.
AC Lock received the Halton Apprentice Shield for the best overall performance in Physical Education and the Dusty Millar Memorial Trophy – for showing the most willingness to help others as voted for by the Intake.
AC Limbu was presented the RAF Benevolent Fund Trophy – Awarded for showing the best overall effort on number 11 Flight.
AC Macpherson received the Station Commander’s Cup – Awarded for showing the best overall effort on number 12 Flight.
AC Harold was presented the Mayor of Aylesbury Trophy – Awarded for the best overall performance on number 11 Flight.
AC Well was presented the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire Trophy – Awarded for the best overall performance on number 12 Flight.
And AC Dunn accepted the Lord Trenchard Trophy on behalf of Number 11 Flight.

Engagement guest for the Parade was Sally Moring, vicar of St Mary’s Church in Wendover.
