AVM Warren met with Dr Lis Goodwin, Master of the WCE, teacher and lecturer, and Professor Simon Denny, holder of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion Research and Enterprise Consulting, RAEC, at a Graduation Parade lunch with the Station Commander, Group Captain Katherine Wilson and other Station personnel.

The Memorandum of Understanding sets out the future relationship between the WCE and No 22 Group. It states, ‘The Company shall award the Honorary Freedom to the Air Officer and invite him to one statutory dinner per year and 22 Gp shall reciprocate. The WCE will also award one or more annual prizes to RAF Service personnel for their performance in training.’

Dr Lis Goodwin said: “As Master of the Worshipful Company of Educators, I am really pleased that we have renewed our links with 22 Group RAF by signing the second Memorandum of Understanding. We had a joint seminar on apprenticeships in December 2018 and I hope we will find more ways of sharing educational experiences and developments going forward.”

Professor Denny also added his delight, saying: “The affiliation between the Worshipful Company of Educators and 22 Group RAF goes back to 2012 and since then we have been proud to celebrate the achievements of RAF educators at our annual awards dinner in London. I am delighted we have renewed our affiliation with the new Memorandum of Understanding that was signed on 4 June. It was very appropriate that the MOU was signed at RAF Halton, and it was a marvellous experience to watch the Graduation Parade of No. 633 Course – Douglas Intake.”
