Childcare

The Rainbow Centre caters for children from aged three months to 12 years with nursery, pre-school, daycare and before and after school facilities. 

The Rainbow Centre is located outside of the camp gates within the Service Families Accommodation.

Family contact and temporary accommodation

Welfare Lodges 
We have 7 Welfare Lodges available to Service personnel, their families and Marham based contractors who need temporary accommodation for short periods of time. 

For wider family members to be able stay locally whilst visiting, then the Welfare Lodges can be booked subject to availability. 


Our personnel who require somewhere safe to have their children can book a Welfare Lodge to be able to spend time with their children at a discounted rate.   

All our Welfare Lodges come fully furnished and have everything you may need for your visit, you will need to bring your wash kit and food.

SSAFA PS&SWS

SSAFA Personal Support & Social Work Service RAF (PS&SWS RAF) is contracted by the MOD to provide welfare support to all serving personnel (regular and reserves) and their families. Our team of specialist Personal & Family Support Workers and Social Workers are located on stations in the RAF community throughout the UK.

Our service is confidential and independent from the Chain of Command. It is the aim of our service to support you to enhance personal welfare, maintain family stability and empower you to access the support networks you are entitled to.

Our service can support you with a range of issues including addiction & dependency, child support, financial, housing, mental health, personal support, physical health and relationships.

Anyone can refer themselves to SSAFA. You can contact our service by any of the ways below.

Chaplains

The chaplaincy centre is based just inside the main gates next to the Main Guardroom.

Sports

Station gym

The gym has a fitness suite and classes.

Access to the gym is via finger print recognition system. To register your details you must complete the online induction found on Sharepoint.

Social

RAF Marham Sandringham Centre

The Sandringham centre is our main community centre which is also located outside the wire adjacent to the Families Entertainment centre. It is also available for private hire, booked through the Hub.

Bars and Cafes

Families Bar - ‘The Blue Bull Café and Bar’ is the Families Bar and is located next to The Hub.

It is open to Families and Single Serving Personnel alike and o_ers reasonably priced food and drinks.

Social - There is a Junior Ranks Bar (Louis’ Bar) serving a variety of snacks and where regular evening events are held. A second community shop is located next to Louis’ providing a wide range of magazines food and drink, and includes its own coffee bar and cash machine.

Louis Bar is located on the Station, the bar serves snacks and soft drinks, check the notice board for opening times.

The Families Entertainment Centre houses the Bull Coffee shop and the soft play area, behind the shops.

The library is free to join. It has lots of fabulous books for adults and children and can be found in the Shop promenade. Contact the HIVE Service or further information and opening times.

 

Aviation Heritage Centre

The Aviation Heritage Centre charts the history of RAF Marham from its opening in 1916 up to the current day.

Opening times: Tuesday and Wednesday, 9am to 4pm and the last Saturday of every month, 9:30am to 4pm.
