Serviceman raises money for St John Ambulance

Cpl Dungay, from 15 Sqn RAF Regiment ran a virtual marathon around Marham and the local area at the end of 2020 in support of St John Ambulance, raising an amazing £2105! This was to thank the charity for aiding his family and to recognise their efforts at events around the UK, now even more important with their fantastic work to help the NHS vaccinate the nation. His aspiration was to run the London Marathon, however, with COVID restrictions in force, and the event cancelled, he opted to run the 26.2 miles in the local area. Cpl Dungay’s fellow 15 Sqn colleagues supported him during the challenge by cycling or running part of the way with him. Throughout the challenge Cpl Dungay ensured that the latest Government COVID guidelines were adhered to at all times.

Cpl Dungay is a JNCO Command Post signaller, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle specialist, as well as an Endurance Training Leader, which suits his passion for running. His training took him from 5 mile to 20 miles runs which allowed him to complete the Marathon, frequently taking his subordinates with him to develop their own physical fitness. Training continues as Cpl Dungay is hoping to participate in the London Marathon 2021
