Air Commodore Perkins attested into the RAF Reserves

An historic moment as Air Commodore Polly Perkins was attested into the RAF Reserves. Using the Bible she was christened with as a baby at RAF Berengaria, Cyprus, she took her oath at RAF St Mawgan on Tuesday 27 September 2022, becoming one of the first in the Royal Air Force to pledge allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III. Having left the Regulars in 2021, Air Commodore Perkins takes up a new role as Regional Air Officer South West (AOSW).

AOSW’s role is to support the Air Force Board Executive Committee, through the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff in order to enhance the public image and positive awareness of the RAF across the region. This is to be in line with the Defence Mission, the RAF Command Plan and the RAF Engagement Strategy, establishing and maintaining close liaison and working relationship with Local Authorities; Lieutenancy Offices; regional senior Royal Navy and Army representatives; industry and education repressentatives; charities and Veterans.
