Award of Prestigious RAF St Mawgan Honour

The W F MacNeece-Foster sword is presented to the member of RAF St Mawgan who has consistently performed to an exceptional standard and who has made an outstanding contribution to the Station and the reputation of the Armed Services. The sword is awarded on an annual basis and is displayed in Station Headquarters.  We are delighted to announce that Flight Sergeant Gary Martin of the Station’s Physical Education Flight is this year’s worthy recipient.

Fighting off stiff competition in a year of exceptional nominees from across the board of military and civilian personnel, FS Martin was adjudged to have consistently demonstrated the highest standards of professionalism and striven for improvement, making a profound impact at RAF St Mawgan.

His meticulous approach and attention to detail has reinforced the Station’s commitment to personnel development and resilience, but beyond his administrative and operational achievements, FS Martin is an exemplary role model in both attitude and character.  His positivity is infectious, and his unwavering commitment to the development of others has had a notable effect on those around him.  He has consistently gone above and beyond to mentor and support his colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the PEd Flt. His ability to lead, mentor and support our people has undoubtedly set him apart.

In summary, FS Martin embodies the values and principles that the MacNeece-Foster Sword award seeks to recognise.  His unwavering dedication, selfless service, and outstanding leadership make him a truly deserving recipient.
