Chief Technician Darren Budziszewski, based at RAF St Mawgan in Cornwall, has received the Charitable Endeavour Award in recognition of his exceptional voluntary service to the RAF Air Cadet Organisation and the wider community.
The award, presented by Jonathan Evans from Plexsys, celebrates individuals or teams who have made a clear and lasting impact in support of charitable causes.
Alongside a demanding full-time role, Chief Technician Budziszewski planned and delivered a major Air Cadet summer camp, giving more than 60 cadets an inspiring insight into RAF life. Most notably, he stepped forward when 781 (Newquay) Squadron Air Cadets was at risk of closure, taking on command of the unit and helping it stabilise, grow and thrive. His commitment has safeguarded a vital youth organisation, strengthened links between RAF St Mawgan and the local community, and created lasting opportunities for young people across Cornwall.
