The Unit

Sport is a vital component of any armed force and a critical element of how the RAF builds operational capability and more specifically warrior spirit. The Directorate of Sport together with its supporting charities help deliver opportunities at each and every level; helping to develop the character, spirit, and attitude of personnel and preparing them to face the challenges associated with military service.

The RAF has 54 sporting associations, ranging from mainstream sports such as hockey, netball, football, and rugby, to the more extreme, such as kite surfing, sports parachuting, and snowboarding. Whatever you might be interested in, there is an association for you.
