The Unit
On-site support to Air TLB sites is delivered under a regional squadron construct, with Digital Support Flights integrated in to Airbases to provide digital oversight, support and cyber protect functions to the Airbase and its supported units. As the local Digital Relationship Manager, the Digital Support Flight is central in building the customer relationships, which includes the interactions and support between Defence partners, internal capability providers, the Air Wing and supported units with the Air Base.
RAF Waddington’s Digital Support Flight is comprised of three sections:
- The Field Service Team, which delivers support to core and Airbase non-core digital systems, response to digital incidents, outages, local change planning and implementation, along with aerodrome safeguarding.
- The Distributed Cyber Protection Team, which provides support for Cyber incidents alongside wider cyber protect, assurance, education and training, working in concert with Air Wing P-CPTs where applicable to ensure holistic Mission Assurance.
- The Cryptographic Team, which is responsible for the provision of cryptographic material management, accounting and compliance to both Airbase and Supported Units in support of operations and training delivery.
