Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde Air Squadron

ABOUT

Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde Air Squadron is manned for up to 60 undergraduate members.

Up to 30 members are recruited annually from the constituent universities.

Our Town Headquarters is in Park Circus, overlooking Kelvingrove Park and the University of Glasgow.

Unusually for a UAS, we do not operate from a military airfield; instead our Flying Element is at Glasgow International Airport.

Weekly training

Other than when university exams are under way, Training Nights take place on Thursday evenings at Town Headquarters.  Flying instruction takes place on Tuesday – Friday during term time and Monday to Friday during holiday periods.

Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde Air Squadron deploys for Easter, summer and autumn camps to give opportunities to experience the RAF lifestyle and to provide continuity in flying instruction.  There are opportunities throughout the year to get involved with sport, adventurous training and personal and professional development.
