About

UGSAS is manned for up to 60 undergraduate members.  Up to 30 members are recruited annually from the constituent universities.  Our Town Headquarters (THQ) is in Park Circus, overlooking Kelvingrove Park and the University of Glasgow.  Unusually for a UAS, we do not operate from a military airfield; instead our Flying Element is at Glasgow International Airport.

21 September 2018 - Pre-joining Fitness Test

Pre-selection fitness test sessions will be undertaken throughout the day  - Venue & timings TBC.

Weekly training

Other than when university exams are under way, Training Nights take place on Thursday evenings at THQ.  Flying instruction takes place on Tuesday – Friday during term time and Monday to Friday during holiday periods.

UGSAS deploys for Easter, summer and autumn camps to give opportunities to experience the RAF lifestyle and to provide continuity in flying instruction.  There are opportunities throughout the year to get involved with sport, adventurous training and personal and professional development.
