Combat Stress have announced that unfortunately, they are no longer able to take new referrals from veterans in England and Wales.
The decision will be reviewed when the charity has reconfigured its services. The charity will continue to take new referrals in Scotland, where services are supported by NHS contract, and Northern Ireland, due to existing capacity. Combat Stress’ 24-hour helpline 0800 138 1619 remains open and they are working closely with other providers to ensure that veterans with mental health challenges get the support they need where possible.
NHS England’s advice is that veterans seeking referral should speak to their GP or contact TILS if they need help from the NHS. To contact the Veterans’ Mental Health Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service (TILS), individuals can self-refer or ask a GP or military charity to refer them using the contact details below:
