The Royal Air Force Falcons Parachute Display Team have begun training ahead of the 2026 display season, on Exercise Freefall Endeavour in California.
Exercise Freefall Endeavour is the first part of two training exercises the team undertake prior to displaying in the summer. Freefall Endeavour primarily focuses on leaning freefall skydiving skills and gaining qualifications, which are used both during the display and in RAF parachute instructing.

Sergeant Jedd Evans, pictured above, from Cardiff, has joined the team as Falcon 6, one of three new jumpers on the team for the 2026 season.
Sergeant Evans joined the RAF in November 2019 after training as a PE teacher and representing Swansea RFC for 6 seasons. Upon completion of Phase 1 training at RAF Halton and Phase 2, Physical Instructor Training at RAF Cosford, he was the posted to the Physical Education Flight at RAF Benson. During his two and half years at RAF Benson he spent time with the Puma Force in Brunei before starting his journey as a Parachute Jump Instructor at RAF Brize Norton.

Sergeant Evans said:
“My intention when walking into the careers office was to always become a Parachute Jump Instructor so when the opportunity to start my PJI course came about I seized it. Graduating in October 2023 and starting teaching static line courses within the Parachute Training Squadron it quickly became apparent to me that the RAF Falcons was the pinnacle to develop my parachuting and freefall ability.
"I am very excited and feel privileged to be at Skydive Perris developing my skills and knowledge, as well as getting to know all the team members. Looking forward to the season ahead and getting about the UK, Europe and the rest of the world to showcase the RAF.”
