NATO has officially recognised the contributions made by the Allied Reserve Forces.

of Reserve Officers.

Commonly referred to by its French acronym CIOR (Confédération Interalliée des Officiers de Réserve); it is also the world’s largest and oldest military reserve’s organisation. It is committed to advise and support NATO on Reserve matters, promote Reserve Service and foster professional development of Reserves. The recent Summer Congress in Madrid, welcomed both commissioned and non-commissioned officers and forms just one part of CIOR’s annual events calendar.

This year, the focus was on NATO’s recognition of the contribution that Reservists make to the Armed Forces capability, and provide insight to future force frameworks in a rapidly-changing global and political landscape.
