RAF Continues to Patrol Allies' Air Space

The RAF continues its extensive defensive air patrols over Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The ability to provide extensive protection for our people and allies shows the RAF’s capability and commitment. The extent of these operations would not be possible without the RAF’s Air Mobility Force.

Voyager, with its air-to-air refuelling capability, allows Typhoons and F-35Bs to stay in the air and conduct defensive patrols in our allies’ air space.

Typhoons and F-35Bs need to be in the air for a prolonged period to conduct the necessary defensive air patrols across the region, due to a drone's ability to stay in the air for up to 6 hours and the ensuing threat this poses.

While the RAF’s Combat Air Force is at the tip of the spear defending our allies, it is working alongside lots of other RAF assets to protect our people and allies.

The RAF is committed to protecting allied air space and continuing its defensive posture in the region to guarantee safety for our people and allies.
