The RAF have been nominated as finalists in the Employer of the Year category of the Annual Apprenticeship Conference Awards in Birmingham.

The Awards were established in 2017 as a joint project between FE Week and The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP).  The national awards ceremony has previously taken place with the Annual Apprenticeship Conference Gala Dinner, however due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2021 National Ceremony will take place online.

The Awards are a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship delivery in the UK, with the RAF offering a wide range of apprenticeships and other developmental opportunities for its workforce.

“The RAF is proud to have one of the UK’s best apprenticeship schemes, unleashing the tremendous potential of our people.”

Chief of Air Staff

The Employer of the Year Category recognises outstanding commitment to apprentices and apprenticeships within an organisation, with judges looking at evidence of commitment to apprenticeships within the organisation, a demonstration of the success apprenticeships have brought to the RAF, and evidence of the success apprentices themselves have had within the RAF.

“The RAF is proud to be recognised in the Top 100 Employers List.  In this Centenary year of the RAF’s Apprenticeships scheme, this success demonstrates that apprenticeships remain central to our training philosophy to develop highly skilled, committed and motivated people.  Having one of the UK’s top apprenticeships schemes allows us to continue to attract the high calibre of people we need to remain at the forefront of Air and Space power delivery.”
