Royal Air Force Supports French Sovereign Exercise Volfa 2025

The Royal Air Force has proudly joined forces with the French Air and Space Force (Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace) to participate in Exercise Volfa 2025. This is France’s premier multinational training event to enhance interoperability and strengthen defence cooperation between allies.

Taking place in the South-West of France, Exercise Volfa 2025 brings together air forces from across Europe to conduct complex air operations in a simulated high-threat environment. The exercise focuses on joint operational readiness, including air-to-air combat, close air support, and large-scale mission planning.

The RAF has deployed personnel and an A400M from 30 Squadron, RAF Brize Norton. These contributions demonstrate the RAF’s commitment to collective defence and its ability to integrate seamlessly with allied forces.

"Exercise Volfa provides an invaluable opportunity for the RAF to train alongside our French and NATO partners in a challenging and dynamic environment. By working together, we enhance our ability to respond to shared security challenges and reinforce the strong bonds between our nations."

The exercise also highlights the close bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and France, underpinned by the Lancaster House Treaties, which promote defence cooperation and joint training initiatives.

As the RAF continues to operate globally, its participation in Volfa 2025 underscores its commitment to maintaining a highly skilled and adaptable force, ready to support NATO and European security.
