About

4624 Squadron is based at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. 4624 Squadron personnel accept, prepare and load cargo and passengers for worldwide travel on RAF air transport, coalition and charter aircraft. The Squadron works both on main bases and in mobile teams, wherever they are tasked around the world. Reservists work alongside Regular RAF personnel, routinely handling passengers and freight at airfields throughout the world.

2012   Awarded the Freedom of Oxfordshire by Oxford City and County councils.

2015 Operation Shader, Middle East Operations

2017 Operation Ruman, Caribbean Disaster Relief

2018 Operation Newcombe, UN Mission, Mali

2020-2021  Operation Rescript, COVID Pandemic

2021  Operation Pitting, extraction from Kabul, Afghanistan

2022  Operation London Bridge, funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II

2023  Operation Polar Bear, evacuation from Sudan

2023  Operation Golden Orb, coronation of HM King Charles III
