Provides personnel in support of RAF requirements for aeromedical evacuation in times of conflict or crisis.
1983 – Formed at RAF Wroughton.
1991 – Sqn deployed to the Gulf for Op GRANBY.
2003 – Sqn deployed to Cyprus in support of Op TELIC.
2006 – Provided 5 personnel on permanent rotation to Op HERRICK until 2014.
2015 – Provided personnel to Op GRITROCK in Sierra Leone.
RAF Brize Norton
4626 Squadron does not have any Battle Honours at this time.
RAF Medics provide essential medical support to personnel, responding to medical emergencies in the UK, whilst on operations and also on exercises.
Pharmacy Technicians handle medication, and provide pharmaceutical advice and support to RAF Medical Services.
RAF Dental Nurses work alongside our dentists and dental hygienists, providing key support and ensuring patients receive the highest level of treatment.
Medical Support Officers provide operational, managerial and administrative support for RAF and defence medical services on base and beyond.
Plan, organise and prepare meals for our personnel at home, overseas, on the ground and in the air. RAF Chefs also cater for VIPs and cook in the field under canvas.
