Bragging rights, silverware and the title of Station Champion were all on the line as Royal Air Force Brize Norton’s golfers headed to the superb Cumberwell Park Golf Club for the annual Station Gross and Nett Championships. With a strong field and a course in excellent condition, there was little room for error, and the competition at the top was tight.
Leading the way in the Gross Championship was Russ Baldwin, who produced an impressive round of 76 to claim the title of 2026 Station Gross Champion. Just behind him, Chris Wood secured second place, while Gaz Charnock completed the Gross podium in third.
The Nett Championship was every bit as competitive, with Simon Williams putting together one of the rounds of the day. Williams shot a gross 77, just one shot behind Baldwin, and returned 41 Stableford points to take the Nett title. His performance saw him crowned 2026 Station Nett Champion, with Callum Woolley taking second and Lee Cushing finishing third.

Cumberwell provided a fantastic venue once again, offering a proper test of golf while delivering the perfect setting for one of the highlights of the Station Golf calendar. Congratulations to Russ Baldwin and Simon Williams on taking the two main titles, and to everyone who finished on the podium.
However, Station Golf does not stop when the Championship trophy is handed out. RAF Brize Norton runs a year-round Order of Merit, giving players the chance to compete throughout the season, alongside a range of other fixtures and events.
