Royal Air Force Brize Norton has delivered summer holiday activities for children and young people, demonstrating the Station's commitment to supporting Service families and recognising the vital role they play in operational success.
The programme included a Football Academy, Summer of STEM activities, youth engagement opportunities and an outdoor residential experience, providing affordable and accessible holiday provision for RAF families.
Made possible through the dedication of Station volunteers, People & Families Support staff and generous funding from the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, the programme enabled children and young people to develop new skills, build confidence, form friendships and create lasting memories throughout the summer holidays. RAF Benevolent Fund and Forces Children's Trust support also helped subsidise the Big Brize Adventure Break residential, significantly reducing costs for military families and ensuring that more young people could take part.
Beyond the positive impact on families, the programme delivered a significant operational benefit. By providing trusted holiday activities and childcare support, RAF Brize Norton estimates that over 10,000 hours of operational output were enabled, allowing personnel to remain focused on delivering the Station's global air mobility mission while knowing their children were safe, supported and engaged.
