NEW WING COMMANDER FOR BASE SUPPORT WING

On Wednesday 7th August 2019, Wing Commander Neil Bunce handed the reins of Base Support Wing, RAF Brize Norton to Wing Commander John Hetherington.

Base Support Wing provides the effective ‘base support’ to the RAF Brize Norton community in support of the delivery of the Station’s mission which is to prepare for and deliver global Air Mobility operations. With approximately 200 personnel providing a support function to the Station; the Wing itself is divided into several Squadron’s including Personnel Management, Force Development, Station Services and Media and Communications.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone within the Wing and working together with my colleagues and counterparts to sustain the Station’s operational excellence and continue to make Brize Norton a better place to work and live.”

RAF Brize Norton, home to the RAF’s Air Mobility Force, is the largest RAF Station with approximately 5,800 personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 MOD Civil Servants.
