RAF Gibraltar does not have a HIVE facility
Housing
Families Housing Services (FHS) are responsible for allocating accommodation, carrying out march-in, pre-march-out appointments.
The FHS team are located at Helm Point in Four Corners. They are available to contact via Email: [email protected]
SLA is dealt with by the accommodation team at Devil Towers Camp (DTC) and can be contacted by Email: [email protected]
Health and welfare
Health
The Princess Royal Medical Centre and Dental Centre is located at DTC and provides care to all service personnel and dependants.
All are to register at Medical Centre at arrival to RAF Gibraltar.
Welfare
Welfare is provided through the BFSWS Area welfare officer who Is located in Helm Point and DTC office.
Second line welfare is provided by the Army welfare service (UWO).
There is also access to the padre, HIVE and J1.
Sports
Station Gym
The gym offers a wide range of facilities and equipment for serving personnel, entitled civilians and dependants to use including a fitness suite, weight-training bay, spinning bikes and squash courts.
Gunwharf
Gun Wharf Water Sports Centre/Gym offers a range of courses from Stand-Up Paddle Boarding to RYA Power Boat / Sailing Courses and RYA Theory Courses
Sailing club
provides the opportunity for recreational and competitive dinghy sailing.
Membership gives you access to a wide variety of dinghies (from the staid to the scary): RS800, RS400, RS200, RS FEVA, RS TERA, Laser PICO and Lasers
Sub Aqua Diving Club (317s)
There is an active sub aqua diving club facilitated by the Diving Section at Joint Physical Development Unit (JPDU)
Social
Community Centres
HQBF Gibraltar community centre is located at HELM Point in Four Corners which is the hub of the community. For more information contact the Community Support Team (CST) on [email protected]
Family Groups
Baby group is held weekly upstairs in Helm Point.
Stay & Play for parents with toddlers run at Helm Point Hall.
Coffee Morning is held in the NAFFI on a Tuesday morning.
**These sessions are run by the volunteers who are members of the community.
Bars and Cafes
The bars and cafes are open to all personnel and their families.
There are two NAAFI’s – Located at Four Corners and DTC.
Uniformed Groups
Several uniformed groups such as Army Cadets, RAF Air Cadets, Cubs and Scouts etc meet on the Rock and are run external to HQBF Gibraltar.
Children and young people
Youth Club
The CST organise youth clubs cater for children from the age of 5 -11 and are organised and run by qualified staff and volunteers which follows the ‘Every Child Matters’ curriculum.
Sunflowers Nursery
Sunflowers nursery run by MoD Schools is located next to St Christopher’s school at Four Corners. It is open 0800–1700 Mon-Thu and 0800–1400 Fri.
