DOUGLAS INTAKE MAKE THE GRADE

Congratulations to Douglas Intake who graduated on Friday 25 September 20. After conducting 10 weeks of continuous training without being able to go home or see their families, the occasion was made even more special by being able to have a small number of  family members present.

Mrs Diane Reap and Mr Ed Thomas attended the graduation to see Diane’s son, AC Lewis Reap, graduate.

Mrs Reap said “It meant a lot to us to be here today to see my son Lewis graduate and go on to Phase 2 Training at RAF Honington, to train as a RAF Regiment Gunner”.

Following their first 2 weeks at RTS, recruits have been able to be cohorted within their intake whilst on training. This has meant that they have been able to form ‘bubbles’ with those personnel on their intake reducing the requirement to remain socially distanced from each other all of the time.

RAF Halton Station Commander, Group Captain Dan Startup, fulfilled the Reviewing Officer role for this graduation and stated: “The whole Station was very pleased to welcome families back to RTS and we will continue to work within the COVID-19 guidelines to welcome more families to graduations in the coming months”.
