GAMING MARATHON TO REMEMBER DYLLAN

Sergeant Luke James of the Recruit Training Squadron is taking part in a gaming marathon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support in memory of Dyllan, the eldest son of his friends, Tristan and Daryll. Dyllan sadly passed away after a long fight against leukaemia in 2017.  Starting at 0600 on Friday 19 March running through until 0812 on Saturday 20 March the team comprise of: Sgt Luke James, Cpl Simon Hudson, Cpl Joe Gibson and friends Lee Hugill and Tom Rouse. The eager gamers will only take breaks from gaming for 10 minutes every two hours.  They intend to make it a true marathon by changing it from 24 hours to 26.2 hours.

Gaming Marathon for Dyllan

Trystan and Daryll have kindly written a few words about Dyllan’s story.  “Dyllan was just 18 months when diagnosed with Leukaemia in November 2015. Everything seemed well until he relapsed in April 2017 and unfortunately after many complications he sadly passed away October 2017. He will always be remembered as being very, very brave and will always be ‘Forever 3’ to everyone who knew him. Numerous charities helped over the years and Macmillan played a big part in putting us in touch with smaller charities who could also help along with them that we wouldn’t have known about if it wasn’t for them.”

The event is now complete.
