Huge congratulations to members of RAF Leeming Running Club, who placed second as a team and achieved some great individual results at the RAF and Inter-Station Cross-Country Championships at RAF Halton.
The team of Sgt Lee Athersmith, Sgt Lenny Austin, AS1 (T) Joel Danks, AS1 (T) Oscar Fishwick, AS1 (T) Lewis Butler and AR Rob Scott had a fantastic day, combining their top four results to come second to RAF Cranwell.
Rob Scott stormed to a fantastic 5th place finish on his debut, closely followed by Lee Athersmith in 8th place, both performances cemented their positions in the RAF’s team for the Inter-Services event later this month. Oscar Fishwick's 6th place in the U23 category secured his place on the RAF U-23 squad for the Inter Services.
They were followed by solid performances from Joel Danks, the crucial 4th counter to hold off RAF Odiham team that finished 3rd. Lewis Butler and Lenny Austin also had great runs, enjoying the day out and experience of competing with goals of doing better next year.
A fantastic day for RAF Leeming and great to see so many brilliant individual and team performances. Hopefully, we can bring an even bigger team next year with even more success for the Station.
