RAF Marham welcomed personnel, families and friends last week for its annual Families Day, and by all accounts, it was a fantastic celebration for everyone involved.

This year's event carried special significance, with the theme of Past, Present and Future chosen to commemorate RAF Marham's 110th anniversary. The theme ran throughout the day, offering a chance to reflect on the station's rich history, celebrate its role today, and look ahead to what lies in store for the future.
The event brought together the station community for a day of entertainment and fun, with a packed programme that had something for all ages. A thrilling flying display took centre stage, giving visitors the chance to see aircraft in action, while an impressive line-up of static displays offered an up-close look at lots of different aircraft, both military and civilian.

Alongside the displays, the day featured a wide range of stalls, with local traders and community groups on hand throughout. Food stands kept everyone fuelled up, offering a good variety of options to suit all tastes, and the fairground rides proved a huge hit with visitors of all ages, adding a real sense of excitement to the occasion.

As the afternoon drew to a close, the celebrations continued into the evening with a live music event, giving guests the chance to relax and enjoy themselves as the day wound down. This element of the celebrations was partially funded by the BFBS Live Entertainments Beneficiary Fund, whose involvement helped round off the day on a real high note.

Families Day is about more than just entertainment, though. It is a chance for RAF Marham to say thank you to its personnel and their families for the support, resilience and dedication they show throughout the year. Service life brings its own unique pressures and demands and events like this offer a well-deserved opportunity to relax, celebrate and enjoy time together as a community.
None of this would have been possible without the generous support of the day's sponsors, whose contributions helped bring the event to life. Sincere thanks go to BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Lest We Forget, Rolls Royce, RAF Benevolent Fund, MBDA, The Fishmongers' Company, Pratt & Whitney and Wifinity. Their backing made a real difference in ensuring the day ran smoothly and that there was plenty on offer for everyone to enjoy.

A special thank you must also go to the organising committee, whose hard work and dedication over many months of planning ensured the day was such a triumph. Pulling together an event of this scale takes real commitment, and their efforts did not go unnoticed by the many families who attended.
Overall, RAF Marham Families Day was a wonderful reminder of the strength and spirit of the station community, and a fitting tribute to the personnel and families who support the RAF all year round.
