Childcare

There is no childcare on the Station.  Information on childcare can be found at Cumberland Council Children’s Services.

The schools nearest to the Service Families Accommodation are Brampton Primary School and William Howard Secondary School.

Health and welfare

Medical centre

RAF Spadeadam does not have any medical facilities on the Station.

RAF Spadeadam is covered by the Newcastle Medical Treatment Facility, at Albemarle Barracks.  Instructions on how to register with the practice will be given to Service personnel during their Arrivals Brief.

The Forcer Protocol

The Forcer Protocol is a pilot scheme currently being trialled with Greater Manchester Police and Cumbria Police. Its aim is to reduce the risk of harm to service veterans who go missing by enabling swift access to key information that can help the police find the person more quickly.

Chaplains

There are no resident Chaplains at RAF Spadeadam. Chaplaincy support is provided by RAF Boulmer, and the team make regular visits to the Station.

The Padre is available, regardless of rank, religious belief or background to confidentially discuss any pastoral, welfare or spiritual problems.

While routine matters are usually handled during normal working hours, if more convenient, appointments can be made in the evening.

Brampton Community Centre

RAF Spadeadam is supported by the Brampton Community Centre which hosts many events.

Integrated Welfare Facility

The Greg Cameron Welfare Facility provides station personnel with 24 hour access to a learning suite and classroom, a SSAFA and Padre room, and a leisure and vending area.
